Marty was raised through his early years on the family Dairy farm in Beverford as the youngest lad of six children. His childhood was fairly typical, building cubby houses, helping milk and stirring his elder brother and hiding behind mum to avoid the retribution.
From Beverford Primary he attended Swan Hill Technical School and loved his technical drawing, building and anything creative. Marty also suggested that he majored in Class Clowning with honours…but we can’t find the records to validate this claim.
Marty’s post school life consisted of many different jobs, skills and locations…but almost always involved something agricultural like farming or creative like building or concreting.
He has worked on shire infrastructure, working his way up to Foreman, sold bricks and tiles, driven busses, landscaped yards and built and repaired extensions, undertaken seasonal horticulture work and overseen production in health foods and additives. We consider Marty our ‘Jack-Of-All-Trades’.
BR&C were very fortunate to persuade Marty to come across and join the crew as our delivery man, ensuring the safe arrival of a host of products to client farms. His work ethic has to be seen to be believed, as he is the first into work to load the truck and always the last back.
Married to the wonderful Delia with three kids, Marty says that he loves being busy and the general interaction he has with our staff and the clients out on his delivery runs.
